Touch Pro 2 – Been and gone on Orange?
You may remember I banged on for months about wanting a Touch Pro and Orange couldn’t decide if they were going to get it… Eventually I opted for getting one from Vodafone (SIM free through a colleague). It’s a great phone, but has a few quirks and I’ve been hanging out for the HTC Touch Pro 2. Yep, I’m still resisting the iPhone (much as I use my iPod Touch for loads of things now!) as I have the usual concerns: Will I have listened to music all day and not have enough juice to make a call or check my email. Can’t put a spare battery in it. Plus it does mean leaving Orange after almost 15 years as… Continue reading »
HTC Touch Pro – Boring Video!
This quite seriously may be the most boring video you’ve ever watched on Youtube…. buy Hounddog But it has probably just convinced me, exactly why I want a HTC Touch Pro over the iPhone! This video was a texting challenge, set by osmio between the two handsets. Don’t get me wrong I still love my SPV M700/Trinity, I just fancy a change! Only last week I was inches away from upgrading to the HTC Diamond whilst on the phone to Orange. It’s not that my phone doesn’t do almost everything I want it to – I just fancied a new toy with a bit of speed! The HTC Diamond looked perfect barring it’s lack of memory card, but that’s all… Continue reading »
EEE PC 900 for Free?
I love my EEE PC, it’s small and ideal for everywhere I want to take it! Now it appears that you might just be able to get one for free! According to Coolsmartphone News Orange are about to offer them free of charge with their data dongle packages – giving you a USB data dongle, and 3GB of Bandwidth for £25 per month over 24 months. That actually brings the price in at £600 over 2 years (nearly twice what I paid for mine), but I guess at least you’ve got it online semi-permanently without worrying about it too much! photo credit: Keiron Skillett
[Quick Posts] HTC Diamond available on Orange
After the recent post about Orange, it seems that details of the new data plans are available from coolsmartphone.com and that the HTC Diamond will be available on July 14th.…..
Impressed with Orange (for a change)
I’d almost bordered on getting rid of my Orange contract recently, and moving over to either T-Mobile (for their data plans) or O2 (for the iPhone obviously!), but they’ve surprised me in the last 24 hours and I may well stay with them. Yesterday for some unknown reason the main keypad on my SPV M700 (O2 XDA IIs, HTC Trinity, HTC P3600 whichever you want to call it!) just stopped working. I promptly rang Orange and asked the all important question….. No, it wasn’t will they replace it, it was: “When are you going to release the HTC Diamond?” I’d noticed it on their website as “Coming Soon” and already knew it was a phone I wanted. The very helpful… Continue reading »
The Future’s Orange?
I used to believe so, apart from one incident many moons ago when I bought a phone in an Orange shop and the manager wouldn’t let me take it away as it needed a new SIM, I nearly exploded as I needed the roaming functionality that weekend on my shiny new phone! I finished my complaint letter with: The future may be bright, but it will be brighter without Orange! Things improved for a while, but just recently they seem to be going backwards, rumours that it’s since France Telecom took over could well be true I suppose! The latest in their immensely odd strategies (in a week where Vodafone has announced free data on all tariffs) is the charging… Continue reading »
Turn Texters into Surfers and An Upgrade
Orange are supposedly cutting data tariffs in an effort to turn texters into surfers, unfortunately the £8 a month “anytime” package doesn’t appear to be available until Q4 2007. That’s a shame as I’ve just ordered my shiny upgraded SPV M700 – watch out for a review coming this way soon!
