iTunes.exe Missing

I had a strange one today, I haven’t loaded iTunes for a while (my iPod holds most of the stuff I want to listen to), but my son needs some party music for his first birthday.

So I loaded iTunes and the shorcut referenced a location that no longer exists?! A quick check showed there was no iTunes.exe!

Rather than uninstall and reinstall and lose all my settings, a quick Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> iTunes -> Repair did the job splendidly!

Hope this helps someone!

Thanks for this! same happened to me after an itunes update..very odd but I was pleased that repair fixed it. I was wondering that if I needed to reinstall I might lose the data. Cheers! Helen

Same thing happened here as well with 03/17/2013 update. Itunes.exe is gone from D: drive as well as everything else.
System restore didn’t help, then I found this site.
I’ve hit the re-install and am waiting, it seems as though something is happening on the system and I’m hoping it works!!

    Didn’t work for me 🙁

On the positive side I installed itunes download on the same drive and nothing was changed and it’s working again.
What’s with iTunes deleting a whole program ????
