Oh so quiet!
I realise it’s been quiet here again for some time (at least on the writing front)– I’ve not had much to write about…. I’ve been super busy getting myself all sorted out! The hosting business is about to become a limited company, I’ve gone part time at work, I’ve demolished my Mum’s garden and somewhere in the midst of that I’ve found time to book a holiday! I’ve got a busy couple of weeks until we’re away so don’t expect too much (see what I’m doing, apologising before I don’t post!) until my accounts are out of the way – I’m automating lots more this year to try to stay on top of them (he says very hopefully!). The automation… Continue reading »
Payment Processing (WorldPay) and The Economy
This is rather an unusual post for me, normally I don’t tend to blog about this sort of stuff (generally because it goes swimmingly!). photo credit: Andres Rueda As many of you know I run my own company and we’re in the proceeds of moving everything over to a limited company (for a variety of reasons but it’s just started to get a bit bigger than we expected!). This is great news and means we’re doing really well however I’ve hit a pretty major stumbling block today. We’re in recession (or just coming out of it, depending on who you believe!), but it’s note really affected my business. If anything it’s been quite good for business, which is something we… Continue reading »
Can we Institutionalise all Pedestrians?
I’m an A to B kind of guy, who might enjoy the scenery on the way – but I am not, I repeat NOT a dawdler! Not in towns anyway, walking in the countryside is a different game of course… photo credit: Caveman 92223 My problem is this, if I’m on a pavement I expect to be able to get to where I need to – that’s what pavements are designed for isn’t it? I get tired of people wandering and dawdling in front of me, and bumping into me from the wrong direction (clearly it’s wrong as it’s not the direction I’m walking in!!!). This was proved more than ever several weeks ago when I attended a fund-raising event… Continue reading »
Gloucestershire Floods 2007 – Google Books
via books.google.co.uk For those that don’t know about the incidents of our wedding day and the floods – this will probably make interesting reading.. Link to full story: Here Quite surprised by Google Books having all the content of a book that’s only two years old (well not even that – our 2nd anniversary is in two weeks time!) I made this post from posterous, a new service I’m testing – let me know what you think! Posted via web from keiron’s posterous<
Getting Back on the Horse!
No – I don’t ride, but getting back on the horse is still a tough thing to do when you’ve taken a knock, whatever the circumstances…. I’ve had a fairly tough year this year to date (some of which you’ll have heard about back in February), but I’m picking myself up again slowly, I’ve been back at work for a while now (with the assistance of my doctors and a few tablets on the way!). My panic seems to be keeping tabs on itself, and the stress levels are OK-ish so long as nobody rocks the boat (believe me, generally somebody rocks the boat at least once per day!!). I have no energy for some things, and a massive renewed… Continue reading »
Is it a New Build?
Be warned, rant mode is on…. We’ve live in our new home for over a year now, having moved in 15 months ago. The house wasn’t new when we bought it, it was about a year old. I ordered myself some IT equipment on Friday (yes the backup saga will probably be solved by this kit!) and stayed at home on Wednesday to accept delivery of it (amongst several other deliveries). When it hadn’t turned up by early afternoon I went hunting for my tracking number kindly provided to me by the online shop I’d purchased from. This is what I got from the ParcelForce tracking number: Beyond the Poseidon Adventure trailer Date Time Location 40 Days and 40 Nights… Continue reading »
Tough Times and Friendship
I seem to be always apologising on this blog, generally for my lack of time to post – the last 5 years has been some of the most hectic in my life. From meeting my (now) wife, battles with Cancer to getting married and moving house… All back to back. Life has been pretty tough again for the start of this year (I’m not ready to go into that one just yet) and I’ll be honest I haven’t felt the inclination to post much, I have the attention span of a goldfish and the temperament of an emotional rottweiler (not sure if I’m going to bite or hide in a corner!). I’ve taken sustained stress for the last couple of… Continue reading »
