Microsoft Support Lifecycle

Microsoft’s Support Lifecycle policy provides consistent and predictable guidelines for product supportavailability at the time of product release. The Support Lifecycle policy took effect October 15, 2002 and applies to most products currently available through retail purchase or volume licensing and most future release products. New enhancements for the Support Lifecycle took effect June 1, 2004.
