Steven Gerrard & Liverpool

I know, I know, I’m not a Liverpool fan as such (Leicester City born and bred I’m afraid!), but I have always been a closet Liverpool fan, don’t know what did it really, the autobiographies I read as a kid, Shankly? Dalglish? Paisley? And I’m not an England Fan (Ireland all the way, Duff, Keane and the boys!). But, I am a Gerrard fan – I don’t know what it is. He’s a fantastic player and I admire his grit and determination (for a boy that had a fork in his foot at an early age and was nearly amputated but for his dad’s quick thinking and Liverpool Football Club he’s come a long way). His autobiography was fantastic and… Continue reading »

“What I did on my summer holiday By Theo Walcott Esq aged 8 1/2 “

I went to a place called Germany with my Uncle Sven and some other grown up’s. It is a country in Europe where a bad man called Adolf used to live with his nazties, he does not live there anymore, Uncle Owen does live there, and the grown up’s say I cant talk about the bad man as it will make Uncle Owen cry if I do. In Germany there are lots of castles and some mountains. We are staying in a place called Baden Baden that’s a silly name, Uncle Frank has the same name as his dad, that’s silly too, his mum must get their underpants mixed up all the time. On the aeroplane Uncle Sol sat next… Continue reading »

Your country needs you!

Not that I care really supporting Ireland… But this amused me! Right this is about Ronaldo, he’s on the verge of getting young player of the tournament award. This other bloke is 2% behind, about 3000 votes……. Spread the word people…. He is currently 1st in the FIFA voting just ahead of Luis Valencia of Ecuador. Please can everyone go to; http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/w/bypa/eligible.html and do the decent thing by voting for Valencia. It doesn’t matter who you support or if you haven’t seen them play, just stop Ronaldo. You know it makes sense!

Search Roundup: Gavin Henson

I have no idea what Gavin Henson’s boot studs are called!?!?! As an Ireland fan I suspect it could be anything – although I particularly like the idea of him calling his studs “Taff”… Ah well, you can get more info on Gavin Henson (and the rest of the Welsh boys) at the WRU Site. Gavin Henson had an outstanding RBS Six Nations debut slotting the 44 metre penalty to secure Wales’ first win against England in six years. He also picked up an RBS 6 Nations man-of-the-match award for his endeavours. A regular in the side since the autumn tests, where he scored a Welsh record 14 conversions against Japan, Gavin Henson made his Wales debut in 2001 against… Continue reading »

Come on you Reds!!

Thousands of Liverpool supports will line the streets of Merseyside tonight when the Reds’ come home after their historic victory in the Champions League Final. The flight will touch down at John Lennon airport at 16:15 and after a new conference they will embark on a two hour open-top bus tour from 18:30. A thrilling match last night left many of us on the edges of our seats for well over two hours (and thousands more to suffer hangovers this morning), to see Liverpool take the crown even though they may not be allowed to defend it next season! Maldini had given Milan lead in the first minute (is that the fastest goal in a Champions League Final – somebody… Continue reading »
