iTunes.exe Missing

I had a strange one today, I haven’t loaded iTunes for a while (my iPod holds most of the stuff I want to listen to), but my son needs some party music for his first birthday. So I loaded iTunes and the shorcut referenced a location that no longer exists?! A quick check showed there was no iTunes.exe! Rather than uninstall and reinstall and lose all my settings, a quick Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> iTunes -> Repair did the job splendidly! Hope this helps someone!

Hard Drive Full – Again -iTunes moving!

I’ve just gone to install yet another app on my iPod Touch and noticed my hard drive fill up again in seconds as hundreds of Podcasts came down that I haven’t had a chance to listen too yet. So, something has to be done: download White Noise 2: The Light I have to listen to more Podcasts! I have to move my iTunes library to an external drive. #1 I just need to do, #2 makes me a little nervous – but let’s give it a go! iTunes killer? Not quite yet for Songbird!

I love my EEE, it’s fantastic – I’ll be taking it on holiday instead of the Philips X53 for the first time this year. It does everything, bar one thing….. Manage my iPod. I used to be able to switch albums on the iPod at the end of every day, a quick sync and new music or podcasts for tomorrow – holidays are a great time for catching up on podcasts! Alright I know that with the EEE the hard drive probably couldn’t hold all my music, but I’d be willing to invest in a light external USB hard drive (as recommended by), as I only have a 2GB Nano. I’ve read about getting iTunes working under Crossover, or Wine…. Continue reading »

Sharing iTunes Music Between Two Users

I really want to get this working (and haven’t had time to play with it yet), the plan I think is to use Apple’s Guide to sharing music between different accounts on a single computer, and make the file location of the iTunes library be on the shared hard drive – it’ll have to be on the SC101 for now, but going forward I don’t see why it shouldn’t live on the all-singing all-dancing RAID 5 file server! Has anyone done this? The Full Monty full What I want to do is have a consolidated music area for both Emma and I, but that we can both have our own preferences, playlists, podcasts (we’d probably hate most of each others)… Continue reading »
