DVD DRM – Do you digg it?
Digg has been the subject of a ‘cease and desist’ letter by AACS (the Advanced Access Content System Licensing Administrator), the body that oversees the digital rights management technology (commonly known as DRM) after blogs and websites began to publish the software key that breaks the encryption on HD-DVD’s. They started to remove stories posted to their social community. This caused a riot with fans of Digg, and as one user suggested a “21st Century revolt” began, as fast as Digg removed the articles they were reposted, eventually leading to Digg collapsing under the strain at one point! A Few Changes to this Blog, Digg, Technorati etc.
You’ll notice a few changes today to this blog, the majority of them should appear below this post there’s a link to Digg, Technorati and del.icio.us (don’t expect me ever to get the dots in the right place again – that’s a one off!!). This should allow people to “tag” and “favourite” this blog more easily, I’ll be looking for more ways to improve the readability for users in the coming weeks, but this is just a start – as I start to do more work on this blog… It will never have a full on theme, such as “The meaning of life”, or “The inner workings of the human mind”, it will still remain the randomness of my web… Continue reading »
