Incoming Links not working

by Keiron on August 10, 2008

I noticed the other day that on a blog I admin that Incoming Links wasn’t working in WordPress, I scratched my head over it for a few minutes.

Sin cadenas

Then did the sensible thing and went to Google Blog Search to check their were actually incoming links to the site! Entering:

link:http://www.domain.com

Revealed a few links… They should definitely be showing up in the WordPress Dashboard.

Then I realised the cause of the problem, when people linked to this site they were linking to (quite rightly) http://www.domain.com. The blog actually lived in http://www.domain.com/blog.

A quick move around solved the problem – I suspect I could still have it in /blog/ using Permalinks and the files being in the root, but I’m not really that worried – the domain will only ever be used for blogging.
