Yeah, I figured that out. I am not really crazy about that behavior, but haven't come across a way to disable it. Just set all comments to moderate and delete them when they pop up?
Thanks for answering btw

Hi Mlankton,

This is wordpress auto-generating a comment in your existing article when you refer to it at a later date. It means your old article is automatically updated with something you discuss on it at some point in the future! (saves you going back and editing something old!)

I have a question. Comment #6 in the link in this article shows a comment that I have seen 5-6 times on my own site.

Is this some weird wordpress behavior where occasionally when you post a new article it also deposits a random snippet of it in the comments of one of your other articles? Or, is it a weird wordpress behavior in response to someone external trying to do some manipulation of your comments?

I actually think that comment was valid. Not only was it true that you hadn't posted in awhile (you do have regular readers), but I checked out the site and there wasn't even any advertising on it ;)

That's true! Hadn't really thought about that one - nice to know they've come to check it out but would be even better to know if they'd actually been interested to read what I'd had to say!

I'm the first to comment so it looks like you've managed to scare off the spammers!

I think luckily though, the true spammers haven't quite caught up with the nofollow community.

The worst though is people replying on your blog as a thankyou (for what you said on their blog). Kind of hard to delete the comments, despite it being obvious that they aren't interested in what you wrote yourself!
