Anothing interesting application.....

It always amazes me the different applications people come up with for products, especially when it might not have been what the developers intended at the time!

I'm not 100% sure how backtype will become useful to me yet. i like it in concept. one thing that i do think is cool ... i can go and see 'others' comments in one place. so if there are bloggers i enjoy reading ... if they are on backtype i can go see what they have commented on recently ... it also shows me what sites they have been frequenting.

I'd not thought about the blogs that don't have subscribe to comments.... That's a good point! I get really annoyed with having to go back and check whether someone has replied!

Disqus does something similar as well as host your comments. You could always use backtype and a couple of Wordpress plugins to get that kind of functionality.

Personally, I don't care about my old comments. I rarely have anything interesting to say. If you comment a lot it would make it easier to hunt for replies if subscribe to comments isn't available.
