Goat Sacrifice
I’m not sure what to make of this story reported on the BBC today, a goat has been sacrificed to fix a Nepal jet at Kathmandu airport!
Apparently the goat was sacrificed in front of the Boeing 757 to fix a persistent electrical fault that had lead to a number of delays in recent week. The offering was made to the Hindu god of sky protection Akash Bhairab, whose symbol is shown on Nepal Airlines plane’s.

Unless you’re a vegetarian I’d say not much when it comes to the goat, after all it’s just a single goat. Doesn’t compare to the millions of other animals which die daily but don’t get their picture in the papers.
As for the passengers on the plane though, I hope there’s really a Buddha god on their side or the plane is simply having some minor malfunctioning.
This is very true! I just found it an interesting method for fixing things… We have thousands of problems at work with our equipment. I wonder if I sacrificed something in front of one of them it would start to work again…. Hmmm, I could draw up a shortlist!
